Roles Based Security
You can add as many users to the system as you like. Each user will be assigned a role. Using 'Roles' we define which parts of the Content Manangement Application (CMA) the user has access to.
By default, there are two Roles:
A Super User has access to the entire CMA. A 'Super User' can create new users, new roles, create channels, etc.
A Content User can only add/update content.
Search Engine Friendly Pages (SEO)
Many data driven websites rely heavily on passing parameters. Search engines don't like parameters, they much prefer basic html pages. Creating something the search engine like means you're more likely to appear higher in their rankings. For you, this means you get more visitors to your site.
We have developed a simple system that maps parameter driven pages to virtual html pages. For example, take a look at these pages on the Amoy site:
Both of these links generate the exact same page. Its the 2nd link that a search engine perfers, so thats what we use.
META Tag Editting
As part of any search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign, you're going to need to modify the META tags. So, as part of the CMS you're able to edit both the META Keywords, and META Description tags.
Create Navigation Channels
You're not restricted to the navigation links that we give you. The CMA allows you to add your own, remove existing ones, and change the order in which they apear.
Create Pages
You can add new pages. You can choose wether the page has a link in the header, footer, or as a featured link off the hompage. You can keep a page within the system, but not publish it.
Content Reuse
Rather than have a piece of content tied to a single page, we've set the system up so that the content is totally separate from the page.
You may want to publish a piece of content on 15 different pages. With some systems, you need to cut and paste it into 15 different pages. If you need to edit the text, you need to edit 15 different pages. Not with ours! You enter the content only once. If you want to use it on 15 different pages, you set up the page, and point it at the content. If you need to edit the text, you change it only once, and all 15 pages are updated. Easy!
Image Upload
As well creating neew pages and editting text, you can upload your images.
WYSIWYG Content Editor
Rather than go through the bother of developing and supporting our own WYSIWYG edittor, we're integrated the industry standard FCK Editor into our CMS.
